Gaming/Video :The Gmod Idiot Box: Episode 10
I know what your thinking... "Kevin... more gamer parody/satire?" Damn straight! This youtuber, DasBoSchitt, is a veteran in the Garry's Mod machinima videos. For almost three years, his main series "The Gmod Idiot Box" has been a standard in Garry's Mod machinima. For the people who aren't gamers or as big as gamers as I am. Garry's Mod is a modification of gaming company Valve's game engine "Source Engine." With this mod, it gave gamers control of ragdolls of characters from their favorite Valve titles. Equipped with tools like lighting, rockets, movie affects, and cameras made it a game for machinima makers. The Gmod Idiot Box is a pioneer in the style he has created and many admire and strive to make their videos like DasBoSchitt.

Video/Movie Clip: Semi Pro - Jive Turkey
This is for the people that haven't seen the 2007 movie Semi Pro. Though some hate it, I pretty much love whatever Will Farrell is in. This movie is about a 1970's basketball team that needs to pick their game up to merge into the NBA. The film has that 70's feel and age to it which once you put Will Farrell in it, it gets hilarious. This scene is that type of Will Farrell outrages comedy where Will Arnett's character takes too much offense to the term "Jive Turkey." I would love if Farrell and Arnett were in another movie together.

Video/Gaming: Gamer Poop: Oblivion #3
This dirty Oblivion parody by Machinima director mans1ay3r is absolutely hilarious. For those of you that are fans of the smash hit The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and have a dirty sense of humor will find this hilarious. Using the PC processing power and fan made mods, he can bend these characters to his will. Stuttering their words to make them say almost anything. I've been watching these a lot hyping myself for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. For those of you that have not played Oblvion, really? Yeah it is a four year old game but its gameplay is unmatched in the RPG genre (in my opinion). Just to wrap things up, Oblvion is baller, mans1ay3r is hilarious, and Skyrim is going to be amazing.

Viral/Video: Epic Meal Time
For those of you living under a rock and don't know about Epic Meal Time, here you go. A Canadian group of fatasses with the intent of making food porn. With the lead narrator Harley Morenstein who started it with friend Sterling Toth. The food revolves usually around bacon and Jack Daniels. Some of the more absurd meals they have made are the Fast Food Lasagna which was a ridiculous amount of burgers covered in bacon and cheese. Another was for Valentines Day when they ate chocolate covered lamb hearts. In just under a year the channel has gained over a million subscribers which in the YouTube world is hard to do. Here's to food porn!

Video Game/Review: Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Awhile ago, I walked into gamestop looking for a game to pass the time. I walked around the selection and noticed that Deus Ex had a price drop and having heard from my friend that its a game close to Metal Gear, Mass Effect, and Fallout 3 had a kid together that is what this would be. They were completely right. This game is simply amazing and so addicting. In the game, you play as head of security Adam Jenson in one of the most powerful human augmentation corporations, Sarif Industries. In the beginning you have to fend off some mercenarys that attack and kill lab staff in the buildings laboratory an you start off as a regular human being with no augmentations or even a HUD(heads up display). As you continue, something really serious happens to Adam and you end up having to go through intensive surgery and wake up better than new and fully augmented. Augments are futuristic enhancements that alter the body to become better than normal humans. The story is very intense and so is the gameplay. You can decide to play stealthy and safe or aggressive and violent. Though you can do a combination of any of the options. It was a real challenge and what you decide during the interactive dialouges decides the outcome of your mission, either it will aid you and open a shortcut or shut you out and make it difficult to reach your goal. There are 4 different endings all of which really open your mind and cause you to think about our current world. I love this game and its great! I highly recommend this game!

Music/Bio: Fitz and The Tantrums
Fitz and The Tantrums is a funk indie-pop soul band with a retro band style started in 2008. Started by a heart-broken Micheal Fitzgerald who got a call from his ex-girlfriend saying her neighbor had an old Conn Organ to sell for 50 dollars. That night he had an electric organ and a hit on his hands. He wrote "Breakin' the Chains of Love" that night and through some phone calls he put together a group of amazing artist. Fitz himself on lead vocals, the lovely Noelle Scaggs on back up vocals and tambourine, James King on saxophone and flute, Joseph Karnes on bass, Jeremy Ruzumna on keyboards, and John Wicks on the drums. All of these artist and instruments made an amazing funky soul/pop band that would be performing large venues within three years. The band has released two EP's (Santa Stole My Lady & Songs for a Breakup Volume 1) and an album called Pickin' Up the Pieces. The group has performed on many late-night talk shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan, Jay Leno, and George Lopez. They also have performed on radio stations and many festivals. The band brings an energetic and explosive performance each and every time they perform, often making the crowd join in on the music. Named the "Hardest-Working Band" of 2011 by Vogue Daily and I am inclined to agree. I and two friends had the chance to see them live in San Francisco at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival at Golden Gate Park. THEY ROCKED. Though there were a lot of high/drunk hippies around, it didn't stop Fitz and The Tantrums from blowing the lid off San Francisco. I wish my friends and I had gotten there earlier to get a better spot because we were not in the closest place(see pics below). We had an amazing time watching the explosive performance that the band brought and we hope to see them in the Bay Area again soon.

Video Games: Gears of War 3
Man, I have been waiting for this game for such a long time and I am so happy it is finally here. Gears of War 3 is the final of the Gears of War series where humans on the planet Sera have been fiercely fighting with the Locust(human like dinosaurs) ever since they emerged from underground caves stating the planet is rightfully theirs to conquer and that they will eradicate the human race for polluting it. Now I'm not going spoil the campaign for everyone but I am gonna say that the story is amazing and will have you in awe to the awesome characters and action that occur. As great as it was it had one thing I didn't really like, the campaign seemed short of how a gears game should be. I remember it took me a good action packed hours each day just to beat the first and second Gears of War but Gears 3 felt like it took only a few hours to beat. Yet, the fun doesn't stop there in the campaign, there are a variety of multiplayer game modes. In one of these you can play on Xbox Live with up to 3 other people and run through the entire story in Standard or Arcade mode where its basically a competition on who can rack up the most points from killing the most enemies. There are "mutators" you can use to make the game harder or funner by adding a laughtrack each time you kill an enemy or disabling ammo caches and making the player resort to scavenging fallen enemy weapons, making ammo scarce. The multiplayer is nothing short of f**king great! I love tearing it up in TDM (Team Death Match) or CTL (Capture the Leader) with the classic Gnasher shotgun and newly introduced Retro Lancer. The improved horde mode is highly addicting especially now that you can buy turrets, barriers, sentry guns, and explosive dummies and like campaign, you can turn on "mutators" in private games making the experience even more enjoyable! None the less the campaign was amazingly awesome along with the multiplayer! In the end Gears of War 3 has surpassed expectations and is a definite keeper. See you guys online!! Watch out for the sawed off shotguns and my gnasher. ;)

Movie: Lion King 3D
Today, I went to spend time with my girlfriend and her family at the theater and we got tickets for The Lion King 3D. What can I say besides that it was the same movie it was when it first released. It was still a heartwarming, laugh ensuing, and sad flick that many still love and remember. There wasn't much to really be surprised by except for the 3D. At first I was questioning was it really worth paying 18 bucks(i didn't pay) just to watch a movie that I had in VHS at home? No, but i don't have a giant widescreen TV or surround sound quality like they do at the theaters, but it still was not worth it. Though, the 3D made it more entertaining, like when Mufasa was dropped from the cliff by Scar. That made the impact harder seeing the depth of the fall or when Zazu was flying through the sky towards Pride Rock, I couldn't help but reach out and try to grasp and squeeze him as it appeared he was coming down from the ceiling and actually whizzing by in the theater. The movie was great none the less. It had its laughs, cries ,and romantic moments. But its not really worth it to pay to watch the movie in theaters when most people have it in VHS or DVD. If you have money to burn or are invited to watch it with friends or family, then it is worth it. It is more of a date flick than anything else. So take a friend or a date that would enjoy watching an old timeless classic.
